History of Saudia Arabia Flag

In modern times, when the practice of sovereign states was introduced, each country made its own flag. Each country's flag is unique. National flags are waved in official ceremonies.  Competition and rivalry also continue.

The tradition of hoisting the national flag on the occasion of natural disasters and mourning is found all over the world. The flag of Saudi Arabia is an exception to this tradition. Tunneling is never done. Its distinctive feature is the word Tawhid.  Under no circumstances are tunnels ever made.

Where does the history of the Saudi flag begin? Dr. Hanan al-Jadd Ani, a professor of Saudi history, explains that its history dates back to the first Saudi state to be established in the 18th century.

It was known as Al-Dariya.

The state lasted from 1744 to 1818. Its flag was green. The moon was formed in the middle of it. The founder of the kingdom, King Abdulaziz, made many changes in the flag of the first Saudi state. He removed the shape of the moon from the flag.  He wrote the word Tawhid in its place.

The color of the flag was kept green. The inscription was kept in white script. It is known as the flag of the state of Najd. This flag was maintained from 1902 to 1921.

The name of the state was changed to "State of Najdu Hijaz". The sword was removed from its flag. The shape of the flag was changed to white and green.

From 1926 to 1932, the flag of the state of Najd-e-Hijaz was in vogue. In some sources, it is said that the design of the flag was given to King Abdul Aziz by his advisor Hafiz Wahba and he also composed the national anthem.

What is the shape of the new flag of Saudi Arabia?

The new national flag of Saudi Arabia was erected on March 15, 1973 during the reign of King Faisal.

It is rectangular in shape. Its width is equal to 2 thirds of its length. It is green in color. In the middle of the flag, the word (La ilaha illa Allah Muhammad Rasoolullah) is written in one-third letter.  His troops are on the side of the Karkh flag stand.

The sword and the word karang are white. The ground is green. The script is Arabic, which is a symbol of the relationship with Islam.  The entry shows that the state is committed to the implementation of Sharia.

The Saudi flag is not lowered under any circumstances. In case of mourning, natural calamity or major tragedy, it is not lowered under any circumstances nor is it lowered.  It is forbidden to take them to unclean places or to sit on the flag.

This ban is done in respect of the word written on it. The image of the sword on it is a symbol of national pride.

Where can the Saudi flag be used? The emblem of the flag is prohibited on shirts. Saudi sports authorities have developed alternative flags for the public in sports competitions.

The Football World Organization had planned in 2002 that fans would fly the flags of the countries participating in the World Cup. Saudi Arabia had issued an official statement warning that it would not tolerate insults to its flag.

A similar incident took place in Afghanistan, where US forces produced a football that was decorated with flags of all countries, including Saudi Arabia.

The victory game was to be played with the same football. Saudi Arabia had also recorded its protest on this occasion.

 Royal flag

It is also the royal flag of Saudi Arabia. It is similar to the national flag.

There is a palm tree on the swords. It was approved by Shah Faisal in 1973.

 Civil flag

It is flown at sea on merchant ships. Its land is green. The national flag is made inside it. The flag is surrounded by white stripes.

Military flags The flags of the navy, naval and air forces are different from each other.

Every foreign ship that enters the Saudi Sea, whether it is a merchant or a warship, has to fly a flag over Saudi.

In Saudi Arabia, national flags are flown at all government buildings and public institutions on Fridays and holidays, from sunrise to sunset.
